I suck at blogging!!

So...a friend of mine is a blogger. Almost weekly...but AT LEAST monthly, I find a link on my facebook to read another of her fantastic blogs. And I always find myself laughing out loud...and most of the time I'm reading them on my cell phone in class or at a meeting or at work...so people look at me like I'm crazy. I started this blog to update everyone on my tales of being a wife and mom...but I've been busy doing just that, so blogging is something I haven't done, though I really do enjoy it.

My last blog was over a year and a half ago...geez! So a million things have happened between now and then...so I'm starting over. I'll try to be dilligent and do monthly posts...we'll see where that goes.

My little man is not so little anymore. He's a crazy two year old who thinks he has the entire world figured out; and he has me and Chuck wrapped around his finger. Being his mom is by far the most challenging thing I've ever done, but its more rewarding than I ever imagined. Having that little man hug me, then lean back and say "I love you Mommy" brings me a sense of peace and joy, regardless of what else is going on. If I'm having a bad day...just seeing him makes things better!

He loves baseball, skateboards, motorcycles and The Wonder Pets. He loves to go to Disneyland, the park, and his favorite food right now is enchiladas. He knows that at Mexican restaurants you get chips, and he never fails to point that out when we drive by one of our favorite places to eat. He plays his little guitar and sings at the tops of his lungs...He's got some pretty entertaining dance moves, wonder where thsoe came from? Every mom knows their kid is the cutest and the smartest in the playgroup...and mine is no exception. :) Whenever people ask how old he is, and I tell them he's not even 2 and a half...they never believe me. "Really?" they always ask...NO, I'm lying to you, because I actually forgot when I gave birth to him. I constantly reference books to see what benchmarks we should hit...and then I'm amazed when I see the things he's doing now aren't expected until much later! I'm so proud to be his mommy!

Halloween is fast approaching, an we're working with the mullet that he's been so lovingly growing since birth. Chase is going to be Joe Dirt! I'm super excited and it's going to be so fun, though I'm sure I'll have to tell everyone what he is...I will for sure post pictures of that event! For now...I'm enjoying this change in weather and have to see where my little man disappeared to...

A small update...

So...I haven't blogged in a while, so I figure while I'm on the phone with Jenee' talking about it, I'm gonna update...

The last time I blogged was February...gosh, so much time has gone by already...

In March we took Chase on vacation with us...we went to Disneyland. It was so much fun experiencing it through the little guys eyes. We were down there for four days and packed a bunch of stuff in. I'm pretty sure nothing else happened...

In April...we did more of nothing. Chase had his first Easter...but getting him to take a picture with the Easter bunny turned out to be a joke, so we don't have one. Oh well...there's always next year. We did try to have his picture taken at Bass Pro Shops with the Bunny but then he noticed him and FREAKED out, started crying and all that good stuff. I'm pretty sure he was traumatized by all the characters at Disneyland...hopefully that doesn't last. I can't believe that he'll be a year old in 5 weeks. That is seriously insane.

Chuck is still out of work because of his injury, but he's going to be having surgery, which will have him out of work for another 3 months at least...I'm hoping that it makes it all better because to go through surgery with no results will suck. Mine and Chuck's 9 year anniversary was on May 3...holy cow!! We took Chase and went to the Aquarium of the Pacific, it was sooo much fun. He loved being able to watch the fish and stick his hands in the water...though he was more interested in splashing then touching the animals. May 10 was my first officials Mother's Day and I got the best present ever!! Chase finally started crawling that day...so awesome. Now that he's mastered that, he's trying to walk; that kid hates being in one place. He's gonna be a holy terror...

So...with that, we have 5 weeks until my little man turns 1. I can't believe he's been around that long, it really seems like yesterday that I was telling everyone that I was pregnant. Hopefully all of our family and friends can come out and celebrate with us. Its gonna be super fun!!

February 2009

So...

Another month has come and gone! Sometimes I wonder where all the time goes...

It didn't seem as though we did much. We spent our Valentine's Day together with Chase, we had dinner at Monaco's, delicious. Geez...what else did we do this month!! Nothing.

I worked up at the Victorville Red Robin to help them out; its nice making the extra money, but gee, the drive sucks!!

Chase is doing more everyday. Though he's lazy and won't crawl, because he knows that he can get to and fro by rolling. He sits up, claps, yells and screams. It's amazing how loud he can be, I never knew such a little guy could make such a ruckus. He's amazing though! He finally fits into clothes that he's supposed to, he's not wearing sizes behind, which is nice!! As I write this, he's laying on the floor tearing apart an ad and screaming at the paper. He's quite the comedian too.

Oh, we did do something this month. Chase went to Disneyland for the first time on February 28th. We got the season passes, very nice, because now they have payment plans; which is more helpful on our budget. His very first ride was The Junge Cruise; he just looked around and of course laughed at stuff. Next we were onto Pirates of the Caribbean. He did amazing, I thought he might get a little scared on the drops, but nope, not at all. We also went on the King Arthur's Carousel, The Winnie the Pooh ride and Snow White. The park was pretty busy and I hate waiting in long lines, so that's all we did for his first visit. And I'll post pictures soon, he's just so dang cute.

We'll see what March holds for us, hopefully Chase will be crawling...we'll see.

January 2009

So...I can't believe that the first month of 2009 is already over!
If you listen to some what some people say, there's a possibility that we only have 3 years left until the end of the world!!
Are you all prepared?? I know I'm not!!
So...as the end of January finds us, I've got a couple of things to share.
Chase has 2 teeth!!
The 2 teeth on the bottom came in; the first broke the surface on January 1st and the 2nd broke the surface 8 days later on January 9th...He's getting another one on the bottom and it seems to be irritating him more than the other two, but he's taking it in stride and being a good baby just like always.
He's also sitting up all by himself. I know that some babies do this earlier, but since we hardly ever put him down, its good for him! He's not crawling yet, but its not far off because he's ready to be moving! He does the usual baby babbles but he's not saying any words yet...I can't wait; but I'm sure I'm gonna hear NO alot!
Right now...I'm still working at Red Robin, but I'm looking for another job, hopefully something will come my way, that would be nice. I think I'm gonna apply at the Sheraton that's opening down the street, maybe I can work the front desk or at the bar! Chuck's on light duty right now, he strained his arm so he's trying to take it easy. That means I have to carry the carseat now...darn!!
That's my update for January...I'll fill you all in at the end of February.

6 Months...

So...Chase turned 6 months on Christmas. It was amazing to watch him "opening" gifts and having such a good time. While my grief about the loss of my grandma will never completely go away, having Chase brings such joy and wonder into my life. I just think its a sign that his 6 month "birthday" falls exactly the on the day she died (well, 5 years actually)...to replace some of my loss with a perfect little boy. Who could honestly hate Christmas when there's so much happiness with Chase and seeing Chase discover these things? I thought that it would never be the same again, and its slowly but surely getting back to "normal."
Chase loved Christmas, as far as I could tell, except he got a little pooped, but what baby wouldn't? He had a little Santa outfit, which was so adorable...he also had a reindeer outfit, I'll have to post those pictures too. One of my favorite pictures is where he's wearing his little Santa hat and Quiksilver sweatshirt (above), he looks so cute!! He loved tearing the paper from the gifts, and then of course putting it straight into his mouth! He got so much stuff...I'm not sure when he'll have time to play with all of it.
Santa came too...we're not sure yet if we're gonna tell Chase that there is a Santa or just do a big gift and explain to him the whole thing when he's young. I know people who were devastated when they discovered that there really was no Santa, I really don't want that for him later on. He got a musical stage with a mirror that he loves, he got some bibs, some baby nail clippers (yes, for mommy!), some jungle animals to hang from his carseat (that's all from Santa) and I can't even tell you what else he got. Lots of fun stuff though, and also some clothes!
I'm looking forward to next year, when he'll better understand what's going on and have even more fun with the whole season!!

Big Boy Food!!

So...Chase has taken his next "step" in his journey to being a big boy.
He's moved from eating just formula, to having "solids."

Apparently, he HATES rice cereal, but we've discovered that he actually enjoys the oatmeal cereal, so he'll eat that. For his first food, he chose Squash...I gave him the choice between that and peas, he grabbed the squash. He had no problems with it and keeping with the tradition we gave him a week before another new food. Next he chose peas...yuck!! This time, I gave him the choice between peas and carrots, he grabbed the green. He dug those too, no crazy faces or anything, he just dug right in!!

Today, I decided that I'd add some fruit to his group, so I gave him the choice between bananas and peaches, he took the peaches. He didn't like them. He made the funniest faces and just kept spitting them out. Obviously, we'll keep trying, they say you should try 7-8 times before you give up on a food. We'll keep trying I guess. I really want him to have a palete like his dads, because I'm SUPER picky.

So...to date, he's tried the rice cereal, the oatmeal, squash, peas, sweet potatoes, bananas, peaches, prunes and applesauce. Of the first foods, he still needs to try the carrots, green beans and pears. He's getting the hang of it and is trying to grab the spoon and feed himself. It's the best watching him learn so many new things.

I can't believe time goes by so fast!! I swear yesterday I was trying to get him to latch on and then introducing him to his bottle and now I'm introducing real foods. I'm interested to see what type of eater he becomes, but I'm really hoping he's not picky like me.

So I hopped on the bandwagon!

So, I decided to follow suit with the other mommies that I know and write a blog!

I'm excited, I'm not gonna lie.

I really want to go back and blog about stuff that already happened, but that would be lame.

I'm a mommy, to a beautiful baby boy, Chase Taylor and also a new wife. I'm so blessed to have a wonderful family and that we're planning on living our dreams and making all of Chase's dreams come true too. In a few years we're planning on making an addition to our family, but that is definitely in the future.

Just to get anyone who doesn't know my life up to speed, here's a quick briefing!

Chase was born on June 25, 2008 at 10:44 pm. He weighed 8 pounds 2 ounces and was 22 inches long. My labor was only 6 hours and no, I had no drugs, I did it au-natural! Chuck and I finally got married on November 8, 2008 at Chapel in the Wildwood after 8 1/2 years of "dating." These are the two best days of my life...

I work at Red Robin as a bartender and a server.

I'm also a substitute teacher for Etiwanda School District.

I'm going back to school next year to get my credential and masters.

Yeah, that's all for now. I will post some wedding pictures soon.

I CAN'T WAIT FOR THANKSGIVING!!!
